Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has issued a sharp warning following threats from US President Donald Trump, saying Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond “more strongly, faster and more effectively than before” to any aggression.
In a statement posted on X, Araqchi said Iranian forces have their “fingers on the trigger” and are capable of defending the country’s land, airspace and maritime borders. He added that lessons learned from the recent 12-day conflict have significantly strengthened Iran’s military readiness and response speed.
The foreign minister reaffirmed Tehran’s support for a fair and mutually beneficial nuclear agreement, free from pressure and intimidation, that recognises Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear technology while ensuring the absence of nuclear weapons.
Araqchi stressed that nuclear arms are not part of Iran’s defence doctrine and said the country has never sought to acquire such weapons.
