IndiGo Suspends Regional Routes as Air India Reroutes Europe Flights over Iran Tensions

IndiGo has cancelled scheduled flights on January 25 between Delhi and Tbilisi and between Mumbai and Almaty, including return services, citing rising regional tensions linked to Iran, The Caspian Post reported, quoting The Times of India.

The airline said it has also suspended flights to Tbilisi, Almaty, Tashkent and Baku until January 28, 2026, as a precaution to safeguard passengers and crew amid growing instability.

Meanwhile, Air India has stopped overflying Iranian airspace on its Europe-bound routes following advisory warnings. The carrier said it will reassess the situation once operations stabilize after recent disruptions caused by a snowstorm on the U.S. east coast.

Air India had previously used safer eastern corridors of Iranian airspace for some North American flights but has temporarily halted that routing while closely monitoring developments.
