Former BAIRA Joint Secretary Arrested at Dhaka Airport in Human Trafficking Case

Dhaka: Police have arrested Mohammed Fakhrul Islam, former joint secretary of the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA), in connection with a human trafficking case filed with Banani Police Station.
According to Rasel Sarwar, officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station, a police team apprehended Fakhrul Islam late last night at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport upon his arrival from abroad.
The OC confirmed that Fakhrul is a named accused in a human trafficking case currently under investigation.
Following his arrest, police released him under the supervision of a lawyer due to reported illness, on the condition that he obtains bail from a court within two days.
