Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft Until February 24

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft for another month, with the restriction now set to remain in force until February 24, according to a Notice to Airmen (Notam) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority on Tuesday.
The extension was announced just three days before the previous deadline of January 23, which had followed an earlier renewal of the ban on December 17.
India and Pakistan have kept their airspaces closed to each other’s airlines since tensions escalated in late April after an attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 people dead.
Under the latest Notam, Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed to all India-registered aircraft until 5:00 a.m. on February 24. The restriction also applies to any aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines or operators, including military flights.
The closure covers all altitudes, from ground level to unlimited height, and applies to both of Pakistan’s flight information regions — Karachi (OPKR) and Lahore (OPLR), according to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority documentation.
