Italy Opens 10,500 Job Slots for Pakistani Workers Over Three Years

ISLAMABAD: Italy has offered more than 10,000 employment opportunities to Pakistani workers over the next three years under a new labour agreement between the two countries.
Under the arrangement, Italy has allocated a dedicated labour quota for Pakistan, enabling 10,500 Pakistani workers to take up jobs across multiple sectors. These include shipbreaking, hospitality, healthcare, agriculture, welding, technical trades, as well as positions for chefs, waiters, housekeeping staff, nurses, medical technicians and farm workers.
Skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani jobseekers will be employed under both seasonal and non-seasonal categories. Each year, 3,500 Pakistanis will travel to Italy for work, comprising 1,500 workers under the seasonal quota and 2,000 under the non-seasonal quota.
Italy has become the first European country to allocate job quotas specifically for Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in bilateral labour cooperation.
Meanwhile, the second meeting of the Pakistan–Italy Joint Working Group is scheduled to be held in Islamabad in February 2026.
