Pakistan’s TCP Floats Tender to Supply 100,000 Tons of Rice to Bangladesh

HAMBURG: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has issued a tender to purchase 100,000 metric tons of rice for supply to Bangladesh, European traders said on Monday.

The deadline for submitting price offers is November 28.

Bangladesh also issued a separate rice tender on Monday, extending a recent wave of import tenders aimed at cooling domestic market prices.

The TCP tender calls for long-grain white rice, with price offers required to remain valid for 21 working days after submission. The rice must be available for shipment within 45 calendar days of the contract award.

Traders view the move as a potential step toward expanding Pakistani rice exports to Bangladesh, amid expectations that Indian-origin rice may be used to fulfil some of Bangladesh’s latest import purchases.

The tender seeks long-grain white rice, with validity conditions unchanged: price offers must remain firm for 21 working days.
