37 Muslims jailed for defending Pakistan after Pahalgam attack: Assam CM
New Delhi: The BJP’s Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has said the state police has so far arrested 37 persons for what he said was defending Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a total of 37 have been put behind bars till now. All these anti-India will be dealt with firmly by the Assam Police,” the BJP;s Chief Minister claimed in his post on X.
The latest arrest was made on May 2 from Dhubri where a man named Amar Ali was held.
In disturbed northeastern states — particularly Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya — have launched a sweeping crackdown against people who are sharing their point of views and criticizing BJP policies on social media posts.
