Ambassador Hashmi Reviews, Ramps Up Pakistan’s Investment Drive in China

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, held a series of meetings with Pakistan’s Honorary Investment Counsellors in China to review progress, strengthen coordination, and set priorities for the year ahead.
The discussions focused on deepening economic engagement and aligning investment outreach with Pakistan’s broader development objectives. Ambassador Hashmi underscored the importance of mobilising Chinese investment across key regions, including innovation hubs, industrial zones, agricultural centres, and strategic gateway areas.
He highlighted the crucial role of the counsellors in promoting trade, investment, and people-to-people links, while supporting export-oriented sectors and the development of joint ventures between Pakistani and Chinese businesses.
The ambassador also shared updates on ongoing investment initiatives, including sector-specific conferences and roadshows that have generated strong business interest and led to preliminary agreements. He urged counsellors to actively follow up on these engagements to convert commitments into concrete outcomes.
In addition, Ambassador Hashmi discussed preparations for an upcoming China-focused agriculture investment conference, aimed at expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector and further strengthening bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and China.
