Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay left Dhaka for Thimphu on Sunday morning, wrapping up his two-day state visit to Bangladesh.
Foreign Adviser M. Touhid Hossain saw him off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as the Bhutanese leader’s flight departed around 8:30 am, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said. Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam were also present.
Before his departure, Prime Minister Tobgay was accorded a static guard of honour in line with state protocol.
During the visit, Bangladesh and Bhutan signed two Memoranda of Understanding — one on cooperation in healthcare services and another on enhancing internet connectivity.
The Bhutanese premier also held bilateral talks with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and met several advisers, senior government officials, and political leaders.
