Indian Agencies Target Local Committees in Kashmir as Part of Post-370 Strategy
Srinagar — Authentic sources have confirmed that the Government of India have reportedly moved to take control of all mohalla committees, mosque (masjid) committees, and aastana committees across the Kashmir Valley.
Sources confirmed South Asian Wire, Indian security and intelligence agencies have planted loyal individuals within several of these committees, allegedly keeping certain members on unofficial payrolls to secure influence. Reports suggest that such infiltration is part of a broader, long-term plan that began after the abrogation of Article 370 on 5 August 2019, a move critics describe as a “slow genocide strategy” aimed at eroding Kashmir’s social, religious, and community autonomy.
Insiders warn that agents have already been embedded in a number of committees. Community leaders are urging residents to act now, replace compromised individuals, and safeguard these bodies with honest, locally trusted members to prevent government-backed appointees from meddling in religious and communal affairs.
Analysts believe that gaining control over these grassroots institutions would give New Delhi deeper influence over everyday life in Kashmir, further consolidating the post-2019 governance model and enabling the meddling of an RSS-influenced, anti-Islamic government in religious affairs.
