The attacks prompted authorities to impose months-long security restrictions, including bans on public gatherings, demonstrations, and the use of face coverings that conceal identity. Mobile networks were also jammed to curb communications among assailants.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"1041\"><strong data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"731\">Sarfraz Bugti<\/strong>, the provincial chief minister, said troops and police responded swiftly, targeting members of what the government calls \u201c<strong data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"876\">Fitna al-Hindustan<\/strong>,\u201d its term for the BLA. He described the operation as the largest elimination of militants in decades, adding that some of those killed were Afghan nationals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1043\" data-end=\"1313\">Bugti alleged that the attackers, described as \u201cIndian-backed terrorists,\u201d had planned to take hostages in Quetta but were stopped before reaching the city center.
