Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud confirmed that logistical, legal, and administrative arrangements \u2014 including the import of indelible ink and the finalisation of polling centres \u2014 are \u201c100% complete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The EC has also finished amending electoral laws under the Representation of the People (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, introducing major reforms such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banning fugitive convicts from contesting elections<\/li>\n<li>Extending \u201claw enforcement\u201d definition to include the armed forces<\/li>\n<li>Reintroducing the \u201cNo Vote\u201d option<\/li>\n<li>Mandating re-elections in case of ties<\/li>\n<li>Launching AI-related offence provisions and IT-supported postal voting<\/li>\n<li>Granting EC authority to annul results in constituencies where irregularities are proven<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are now 12.76 crore registered voters, including 1,230 third-gender voters. The final voter list will be published on November 18, with claims accepted until November 17.<\/p>\n<p>In a first, Bangladeshi expatriates will be able to vote via postal ballots using a new mobile application \u2014 \u2018Postal Vote BD Registration App\u2019 \u2014 launching on November 16.<\/p>\n<p>Three new political parties \u2014 the National Citizen Party (NCP), Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist), and Bangladesh Aam Jonogon Party (BAJP) \u2014 have been registered and assigned new electoral symbols.<\/p>\n<p>The EC has finalised 42,761 polling centres and 244,649 booths nationwide.
