SCP to Resume Hearing of Article 63-A Revision Pleas Today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will resume hearing of review appeals related to the Article 63-A today (Wednesday).
A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, and including Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel is hearing the review petition.
The bench was reconstituted on Tuesday after Justice Munib Akhtar refused to join.
Supreme Court Bar President Shehzad Shaukat had argued on Tuesday. The federal government and the People’s Party supported the review petitions, while PTI’s Barrister Ali Zafar raised objections to forming the bench.
As the “newly-constituted” five-member Supreme Court bench with Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan added to it heard the Article 63-A revision case, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa clarified the reconstitution of the bench.
