Looop Lapeta: Amazon Prime

An official remake of German thriller Run Lola Run, Looop Lapeta stars Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin in the lead. Directed by Aakash Bhatia, the movie is about a woman who has to race against time and come up with a huge amount of money to save her boyfriend who has incurred the wrath of a mobster. The original had won several international awards and was Germany’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 71st Academy Awards. In a recent interview, Pannu had said the Hindi remake will be different from the original. “We have just probably taken the core idea of it and made a whole different film out of it,” the actor had said.

One Cut Two Cut: Amazon Prime

Funny man Danish Sait is back with another comedy caper, One Cut Two Cut. The Kannada movie, which is produced by late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, is directed by Vamsidhar Bhogaraju, and stars Prakash Belawadi, Samyukta Hornad and Sampath Maitreya in the lead, besides Sait. According to synopsis of the movie, Sait plays an art and crafts teacher, “whose first day at work becomes a task of saving the school which has been taken hostage by four radical social media activists.”

The Great Indian Murder: Disney+ Hotstar

When notorious industrialist Vicky Rai gets killed at his party, the main suspects are the guests, both invited and uninvited. Starring Richa Chadha, Pratik Gandhi, and Ashutosh Rana in the lead, the series is produced by Ajay Devgn and Priti Vinay Sinha. An adaptation of Vikas Swarup’s acclaimed novel ‘Six Suspects’, The Great Indian Murder features Chadha as a cop named Sudha Bharadwaj investigating the high-profile murder.

The Tinder Swindler: Netflix

The Tinder Swindler is a true crime documentary about a conman Shimon Hayut, who posed as a millionaire businessman on Tinder and cheated several women millions of dollars. “Posing as a wealthy, jet-setting diamond mogul, he wooed women online then conned them out of millions of dollars. Now some victims plan for payback,” according to the synopsis. The women who have been swindled by Hayut comes forward to tell their story in the documentary, directed by Felicity Morris of Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer fame.

Murderville: Netflix

Release date: February 3

A murder-mystery comedy series, Murderville has a celebrity guest pairing with Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) each episode, to solve a crime. The show is unique because while the lead characters know where the story is headed, the guest star is clueless and is left to improvise their way through each of the cases as the they are not given a script. The six-episode procedural will feature Annie Murphy Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch, Sharon Stone, and Erinn Hayes as guest stars.
